Remove the radio
Remove the centre panel around the radio using a plastic pry tool. On Toyota models (Yaris, Corolla, Avensis, Auris) there are clip connections and sometimes Torx screws. Slide the radio forward after loosening.

Read the serial number
The serial number is on the label on the side or top of the radio. This usually starts with the Toyota part number (e.g. 86120-123456). Note it in full, including hyphens and letters.
