Remove the radio
Remove the centre panel around the radio using a plastic pry tool. On most Mitsubishi models (Colt, Outlander, ASX) there are clip connections and/or screws behind the trim ring. Slide the radio forward after loosening.

Read the serial number
The serial number on the label on the side or top of the radio starts with "MI" (e.g. MI610SM0123456). Note it in full, including all letters. Carefully distinguish the letter O from the digit 0.

Enter the serial number
Enter the full serial number below. After receiving the unlock code, enter it using the preset buttons on the radio. Note the serial number exactly as shown on the label.
