On the Jaguar S-Type, X-Type and XJ (2000–2009) the radio is accessible by popping off the wooden or leather trim panel. Remove the screws and pull the unit forward.

The serial number is on the label on the side or top of the radio. For Alpine radios this is usually a 5- or 6-digit sequence. Note it down in full.
