The New Beetle has a Gamma or Premium radio; the later Beetle 5C an RCD 310 or RCD 510. All use a VWZ serial number on the unit label.
Remove the radio and read the VWZ serial number from the label. On the New Beetle the code card may also be in the service booklet.
Check the service booklet first — the original code card is often kept there
No card? Remove the radio with release keys
Note the full serial number from the label (starts with VWZ)
Enter the serial number when placing your order
Enter the received code with the preset buttons
Only 2 attempts, then "SAFE" appears — wait 1 hour with the ignition on
On the Gamma radio, hold the right-hand buttons to confirm the code entry
