The Cherokee KJ and KK have Chrysler-family radios (RB/RE-series, built by Alpine or Mitsubishi) with the serial number on the unit label. The code is calculated or looked up from that serial.
Remove the radio and read the serial from the label; note the model reference (e.g. RB4, REC) printed next to it.
Turn the ignition on — the display shows "CODE"
Remove the radio with DIN release keys or fascia removal tools
Photograph the label: serial number and unit reference (RB../RE..)
Enter the serial when placing your order
Enter the received code with the preset buttons
The unit reference next to the serial tells us which code system your radio uses — include it
After several wrong attempts the unit blocks temporarily — leave it on for an hour
