SEAT Aura & Alana Radio Code Guide

SEAT's factory radios of the 2000s carry their own names — Aura, Alana and Adagio — but underneath they are standard VAG units, fitted to the Ibiza 6L/6J, Leon 1M/1P, Altea and Toledo. They lock with SAFE after a battery disconnect and use an SEZ serial number.

Finding the SEZ serial number

1. Remove the radio with two or four release keys.
2. Note the number starting SEZ (fourteen characters) from the label.
3. Photograph the label — misreading one character produces the wrong code.

Order your SEAT radio code with that serial number.

Entering the code

1. Switch on: SAFE appears, then 1000.
2. Set each digit with preset buttons 1–4.
3. Hold the right-hand seek/scan button until SAFE disappears and the radio starts.

The VAG 2-attempt rule applies: after two wrong codes, SAFE locks for an hour. Keep the radio powered and it resets automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Aura, Alana, Adagio — does the name change the procedure?

No. The names indicate trim (cassette, CD, changer) but the code system is identical across all three.

My Ibiza shows SAFE permanently. Broken?

It is in the lock-out hour after two wrong attempts. Leave it on for an hour; the 1000 prompt returns.

Can I use my old code card from the glovebox?

Yes — the code never changes. No card? The SEZ serial route produces exactly the same code.
